Large Bespoke Garden Torch
During my time studying at the national school of blacksmithing I designed and made a Large paraffin garden torch. I wanted to explore the plasticity of steel and use the lines found in octagonal section and flat octagonal section to express how mailable hot steel can be. I used ball punches and fullers to push and pull the steel and create the piece. The paraffin reservoir was forged from pipe and the wick was cotton based large lantern wick used by circuses and street performers etc.
