At the Yorkshire Forge, we can repair many things including pieces made from cast iron, brass and copper. We can achieve this using different welding mediums such as silver and lead soldering and brazing techniques.

Bespoke Damascus corkscrew
Much like welding we heat up the piece to be repaired with a small heating torch and using flux we clean the surfaces about to be brazed or soldered, then using the appropriate filler rods we can repair cast iron, brass and copper pieces. Brazing can also be used to repair delicate steelwork where other welding techniques would destroy the original piece or build up corroded fragile surfaces. These techniques are used a lot in the restoration of thin leaf work for example.
